I Walk The Line
I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because you're mine, I walk the line

I find it very, very easy to be true
I find myself alone when each day is through
Yes, I'll admit that I'm a fool for you
Because you're mine, I walk the line

As sure as night is dark and day is light
I keep you on my mind both day and night
And happiness I've known proves that it's right
Because you're mine, I walk the line

You've got a way to keep me on your side
You give me cause for love that I can't hide
For you I know I'd even try to turn the tide
Because you're mine, I walk the line

I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because you're mine, I walk the line

John Lydon answered questions in a webchat with the Sun Online and as usual with anything he says it was very interesting. Included is his response to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. When asked if he would play with the Pistols again he said "I could see a day when we played live together again - but only if it was in Japan and for plenty of filthy yen! My moral code isn't that strict.."

Henry Rollins will be hosting Harmony in My Head on Indie 103.1 from 8pm to 10pm beginning today. Rollins originally signed on with the station in May 2004, and has since been joined by a number of punk luminaries, including Kung Fu/Vandals' Joe Escalante, Dicky Barrett of the Mighty Might Bosstones, Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols and Joe Sib of SideOneDummy / 22 Jacks. Google has just launched a music-specific search engine... mirroring successful services involving news, photos, and shopping results. The music offering, which went live early this morning, delivers artist-related images, lyrics, reviews, discographies, and news, as well as links to purchase CDs and downloads. The suite of results can be triggered by simply entering a music-specific query, like "Prince," "All-American Rejects," or "Mozart". Several digital music stores are represented in the e-commerce results set, including iTunes, MSN Music, CD Universe, Rhapsody, and Wal-Mart. The service also aggregates reviews from sources including Rolling Stone, Canoe, and Blender, and compiles a consensus rating (out of five stars). Links to relevant lyrics sites are organized within song-specific pages....
I bet publishers won't like this service.

The Coffin Lids 'Round Midnight' is the newest release from The Coffin Lids hailing from Boston. "Walk a mile in my shoes" clocks in with buzzing guitars and vocals that make you believe these guys have walked many a Rock and Roll mile. I can picture seeing these guys playing live with every member pausing between songs to take a sip of whiskey only to drive into the next song harder and louder. They sound Rock & Roll and they are Rock & Roll. Track eight, "Action" has some great sounding vocals and a beat that keeps you guessing what comes next. "Kick out of you" reminds me of the Stooges for some reason. "She's the Bomb" has a really cool driving beat that makes me wanna do just that..drive fast. "Creepy Crawl" has the band giving there own version of a sing along dance along song done with the cool sound that creeps out of each song on this disc. [more inside]

The REATARDS "Not F*cked Enough"
Before the Lost Sounds there was THE REATARDS. Banned from nearly every club they played, THE REATARDS were overdriven, loud, and destructive. These unreleased songs were hand picked from the archives of the band's "Goner Years" (the 96-99 period they spent on Goner records). Recorded in Jay & Ryan's bedrooms straight to cassette tape & mixed down a 70's stereo system. Some of the most amazing hate-filled anthems ever, includes the long out of print 'Get Real Stupid'. If Nikki Sixx has a brain left he will do just as he has threatened to do for years now actually do what he says> "I don't want to be part of that trend where bands that have been around for more than 20 years become mellow," he said. "Even with U2, a band I respect, everything has this older, mellower feel to it. You hear that in a lot of rock bands. I don't mind having ballads and medium tempo songs..I just hope we never become a bunch of pussies." Amazing from a guy who once was cool...he makes this statement and is playing 2 dates with the STONES..contradiction has a new mascot. My advice is this...Record 'Shout at the Devil 2' and stop doing interviews.

Old Skars and Upstarts 505 is the latest comp put together by the Master of Disaster Duane Peters. I own all of them and all of them rank in my top 10 all time best cd list. This new one, "the 505 edition" is no exception. It begins with the "Bad Lieutnants" doing 'Arizona Love' that kind of sets the pace for an in your face dose of punk rock from around the globe. The Hunns cover the classic VH track "Ain't Talkin' bout Love" and not only do it justice but actually make it better with Duane and Corey trading off on vocals throughout. AWESOME stuff! The Lizzies (feat. Corey) contribute "Baby Black and Blue". I can't wait to hear some more from this band. None of the bands on this cd disappoint. Instead they all give you a sense that punk rock is alive and well despite all the CRAP being thrown at everyone that is labeled "punk". Mr. Peters knows good music period. Now, as if this incredible comp cd isn't enough, he has organized a tour featuring a lot of the bands on this edition of Old Skars. [more inside]
