Volume IV – Long in the Tooth

Volume IV – Long in the Tooth

March 21st, 2014 by BMF

I received my copy of the new Volume IV album Long in the Tooth release on limited vinyl, CD and download card the other day. I used the Gene Simmons test for how good it will sound on my awesome home stereo system by first listening on my crappy car radio. Not only did it sound great in the car, I hurried home to slap the CD into the home system and turned it up to 11.

This is great Rock and Roll. The type of music that you can feel in your gut coming through your speakers at both a high volume and low volume. I could go on and on about how you can hear different influences, blah blah blah but the bottom line is the music these guys have created will rock your ass off.

This may be silly to some but what makes this whole new music experience even better for me personally, is the label sent a personalized note with the package (I love when record people do that) and there is the fact that a really long time great friend of mine is in this band. Mr. Blake Parris on thundering bass I don’t know the other guys in band but hope to soon. Blake you have hit it out of the park with this one man. I am proud as hell to know you and am happy as hell you have put this great slab of Rock into my hands. Another great detail often missed by bands putting out music is they actually got all the CD info on the CD so unless you are using a CD player from the 80?s, you can see the track names and all. These are details that are important to me. Great package of music Volume IV.

Be sure to check out the photos of the band playing live in Marietta exactly one year ago.

4/15/18 ~update by mc~ This has been a missing BMF post. I found it in the web archives saved on just one date and then it vanished. But I’m glad it’s found cause it’s our pal Blake’s band(one of his bands). Jeff loved this band and dedicated a section to them on MusicFilter. Only thing I’ll add is the music from the album. It looks like they have sold out of the album. We have one or two…not sure. Thanks to Blake and Volume IV for making this hardcore music. Wow I’m listening now. It’s great. Very Sheavy. 🙂

Volume IV signs deal with Ripple Music

Volume IV signs deal with Ripple Music

July 11th, 2013 by BMF

Very cool news:

RIPPLE MUSIC is proud to announce the signing of acclaimed, hard-hitting American heavy rockers, VOLUME IV to their ever-expanding roster!

VOLUME IV is a unit that unleashes their mighty sonic attack with aplomb and a nasty sneer on their faces. Full of grit and no-nonsense rock, VOLUME IV pummel their listeners to a bloody pulp with a fierce combination of heavy groove, dirty melodies and that all important riff. Individually the members of VOLUME IV have shared the stage with legendary acts such as MOTORHEAD, IRON MAIDEN, DANZIG, MASTODON, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY and DOWN. Now, back in the studio, VOLUME IV is hard at work recording their RIPPLE MUSIC debut album, tentatively titled Long in the Tooth. Plowing the same massively heavy fields of 70?s/80?s classic hard rock that fueled their debut EP, VOLUME IV aim to build upon the crushing success of that first release and take their rocking brand of heaviness to a new level. And when the band describes themselves as “Loud Motherfuckers” you better bet that the new album will rock! Whatever title the new album takes, RIPPLE MUSIC is set to unleash the heaviness worldwide in 2014, as the band makes plans to tour and hopefully hit all the major heavy rock festivals.

VOLUME IV commented yesterday upon the new alliance; “Other than not signing us in the back of a limo over mounds of cocaine, we feel Ripple is one of the best labels going and we are proud to be part of the family!! It’s clear that these guys don’t compromise in terms of putting out creative music and are true believers of heavy rock. The variety of bands and the sheer quality of music they’ve released speaks for itself. We’re very honored that our music earned its place among their ranks!”

For the growing legions of Ripple fans, known as the Waveriders, VOLUME IV will be another must-hear addition to the ranks of bands that already include such heavy rockers as Mos Generator, Devil to Pay, Mothership, Trucker Diablo and Ape Machine. And you can bet that the combination of VOLUME IV and RIPPLE MUSIC will be a combustible mixture!

Volume IV – Rockin’ Hard in Marietta

volume iv_3_21_13_15b

Few bands today come across with any purpose. Volume IV come at you with the purpose of kicking your senses into oblivion with heart pounding vibes and styling that will affect you during and after. This three piece from Atlanta drives their point across loud and clear.

Joe Carpenter plays guitar and sings with a guttural stomp that will leave your mind a bloody mess. Blake Parris plays the bass and sings as well. His bass lines are thunderous to say the least. On drums is Troy King. He keeps it all moving forward with smashes and crashes that you will feel and hear in your head the day after a show. I don’t know much about the guys in the band except for Blake who is a long time friend. I am so glad I made it out to see these guys play. Thanks to Blake for turning me on to them. Volume IV are as fun to watch as they are to hear.

VOLUME IV

Volume IV from Atlanta play the type of music I can really get into. These guys are throwin’ down some classic hard stuff. Sounds DEEP, and HARD and cool. This is the kind of music you feel in your gut.
